{"id":2021,"date":"2026-06-03T15:04:21","date_gmt":"2026-06-03T12:04:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ewers.ee\/eriala\/general-education\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T13:08:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T10:08:28","slug":"general-education","status":"publish","type":"eriala","link":"https:\/\/ewers.ee\/en\/speciality\/general-education\/","title":{"rendered":"General Education"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are <strong>currently pursuing your education<\/strong> or would like <strong>to begin high school<\/strong>, now is the time to make a decision and <strong>submit an application<\/strong> to begin your studies <strong>at the General Education Department<\/strong> of the V\u00f5ru County Education and Technology Center <strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>You can:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>continue your education if you are at least 18 years old, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>complete primary or secondary education,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if you&#8217;d like, you can also learn a trade,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to study while balancing work and family life,\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>attending elementary school 3 days a week,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>attending high school 3 days a week,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop independent learning skills,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study in a modern learning environment with the support and guidance of professional and friendly educators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In grades 8\u20139,<\/strong> instruction is based on the national curriculum for basic school, and students who complete grade 9 receive a basic school diploma. To graduate from basic school, students must submit a creative project during 8th grade and pass exams in Estonian, mathematics, and one elective subject at the end of 9th grade.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In grades 10\u201312,<\/strong> instruction is based on the national high school curriculum, and students who graduate from grade 12 receive a high school diploma. To graduate from high school, students must pass state exams in Estonian, mathematics, and a foreign language. In addition, they must pass a school exam and complete a practical research project in 11th grade.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General education is provided through <strong>a part-time format<\/strong>, which allows students to pursue their education flexibly while balancing work and family commitments. Students may remain in the same class for several years and study on a part-time basis, or as students taking individual courses. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In grades 8 and 9, classes are scheduled as in-person sessions three days a week. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10.-12. In this class, instruction is scheduled as in-person sessions three days a week. If, for a valid reason, a student is unable to attend all in-person classes, subject teachers, in collaboration with the student, will facilitate the acquisition of the course material through independent study.
