We are very pleased that you have joined us. To help make your transition a little smoother, we are providing you with information about the school and how the course is organized.
Information for September 1
The opening ceremony for the school year will take place on September 1 at 10:15 a.m . in front of the main building of the Võru County Education and Technology Center. We will gather in our study groups next to the signs for our respective fields of study.
The day continues with a joint information session for students in applied secondary education and vocational secondary education, as well as for assistant cooks, woodworking machine operators, and students in preparatory studies, in Room P101; while general education students will gather in room Ü304 on the 3rd floor of the dormitory.
This is followed by a lunch break, after which the course instructors/mentors will hold their classes ( ) according to the schedule; for the 2nd and 3rd-year students, the day continues with subject classes.
Attendance at the ceremony is not mandatory for vocational education students (i.e., part-time students). Classes will begin according to the schedule. If they wish, part-time vocational students can ask for information after the ceremony in room P404 of the main building.
We ask all first-year students to bring a notebook and writing utensils; to log in to the information systems, you will need a valid ID card, Mobile-ID, or Smart-ID.

In the class schedule, the letter “P” before a room number indicates the main building (Kooli tee 1), “T” indicates the technical building (Pärna tee 22), and “E” indicates the construction building (Pärna tee 5). The first number in a room number on the class schedule indicates the floor. For example, P310 is located on the third floor of the main building.
Class Times
Classes begin at 8:30 a.m., and each class lasts 90 minutes. There are 3–5 classes per school day. In addition to classes, there are meetings with a mentor and, if necessary, consultation sessions. You can view the start and end times of classes via the same link to the schedule on the school’s website.
In addition to the classes scheduled in the timetable, students may also use the school’s laboratories and equipment for independent study and practice. The use of laboratories and equipment must be discussed with the subject teacher.
The Tahvel academic information system, the Moodle learning environment, and email
You can view academic information about yourself (including homework and grades) in the Tahvel academic information system. Once school starts, you can log in to Tahvel using your Mobile-ID, ID card, or HarID account. Your parent can also request access to view your academic information.
Digital learning materials are available on the Moodle learning platform. Every student must have a Moodle account. You can create an account here. If you have used Moodle before at another school, you do not need to create a new account.
In early September, you will be assigned a school network username and an email address with the school’s domain. Information related to your studies and school life will be sent to your school email address. To activate your computer network username and email address, you must create a HarID account and set a password for it during the month of September.
Instructions for logging in to the HarID environment and creating or changing your password can be found here (section “Creating a User Account and Password in the HarID Environment”). Once you have created a HarID account, you can use it to log in to Moodle and Tahvel in the future.
We recommend that you forward emails sent to your school email address to your personal email address. You can find instructions (in English) on how to forward emails to another email address here

Student ID Card
You can order a student ID card on your own at eduid.ee/login or by filling out a paper application at the Academic Affairs Office (P122). The student ID card is free of charge.
Accommodations
Students at the Võru County Education and Technology Center can stay in the school’s dormitories. For more information about housing, click HERE.
Catering
It is also possible to eat school lunch at the school. Lunch must be reserved and paid for in advance on the toitkooli.ee website. Lunch can be eaten both in the main building and in the technology building. After ordering and paying for your meal, you must check in at the cafeteria using your phone (see https://www.ewers.ee/et/toitlustamine-0#telo ) or using your student ID card or another chip card that has been set up accordingly by the school’s IT specialist. More detailed information (lunch prices, etc.) will be available from your course advisor in early September.
Please note: For the first two weeks, school lunches have been pre-ordered and paid for first-year students in the daytime program.
Recreational Activities
In addition to the many traditional events held at the school (freshman initiation, Teachers’ Day, Christmas Week, etc.), students also have the opportunity to shape school life to their liking. The best way to do this is to participate in the student council. We’ll share information about the student council elections in September.
In addition, several interest clubs will begin their activities this fall, and all EWERS students are welcome to participate. The interest clubs are free for EWERS students.
All students can use the pool and saunas at the Väimela Health Center free of charge. We will provide more detailed information in September.
