General education for adults

For your information

If you are currently pursuing your education or would like to begin high school, now is the time to make a decision and submit an application to begin your studies in the general education program at the Võru County Education and Technology Center .

You can:

+ continue your education if you are at least 18 years old,

+ complete primary or secondary education,

+ if you’d like, you can also learn a trade,

+ to study while balancing work and family,

    • attending elementary school 3 days a week,
    • by attending high school 3 days a week, to develop independent learning skills,

+ Study in a modern learning environment with the support and guidance of professional and friendly educators.

General education is provided through a part-time format, which allows students to pursue their education flexibly while balancing work and family commitments. Students may remain in the same class for several years and study on a part-time basis, or as students taking individual courses.

8. – 9th grade

Instruction is based on the national curriculum for basic school, and students who complete 9th grade receive a basic school diploma. To graduate from basic school, students must submit a creative project during 8th grade and pass exams in Estonian, mathematics, and one elective subject at the end of 9th grade.

Classes are held three days a week.

10. – 12. class

Instruction is based on the national high school curriculum, and students who complete 12th grade receive a high school diploma. To graduate from high school, students must pass state exams in Estonian, mathematics, and a foreign language. In addition, they must pass a school exam and complete a practical research project in 11th grade.

Classes are scheduled as in-person sessions three days a week. If, for a valid reason, a student is unable to attend all classroom sessions, subject teachers, in collaboration with the student, will facilitate the acquisition of the course material through independent study. Students are required to attend at least 25% of the classes and to complete assignments and tests in class.
