As an EWERS student, you can apply for various grants and scholarships to help you get by better during your studies. In addition to state-funded study grants and reimbursement for travel expenses, our partners offer specialized scholarships to hardworking and outstanding students.

A student may apply for the basic grant if he or she:
Students can apply for financial aid for five academic months twice per academic year—in September and February. First-year students or students in their first semester of a program are not eligible to apply for grants—they do not yet have academic results on which to base the rankings and grant allocations.
The basic grant is awarded based on students’ ranking according to their academic performance. The amount of the basic grant is 60 euros per month. You cannot apply for the basic grant during an academic leave of absence.
An educational institution has the right to withhold a study grant from a student who is absent from classes without a valid reason or who fails to fulfill the obligations set forth in the school’s charter, internal regulations, or academic regulations. The school also has the right to terminate or suspend payment of the grant to a student if the student materially violates their obligations.

Special financial aid can be applied for by students whose ability to continue their studies is hindered by their financial situation. Our social worker, Ene Väär (Room 306 in the main building), can help you submit your application for special financial aid along with the required supporting documents.
Applications for the basic grant and the special grant must be submitted no later than September 15 of the first semester and no later than February 15 during the second semester.
Students enrolled in in full-time day programs and whose place of residence is not in the same town as EWERS (Väimela).
Students will be reimbursed only for travel expenses . This includes domestic bus routes (both regional and commercial) and train routes. A student’s place of residence is determined based on the population register.
Commuters traveling between home and school each day are reimbursed for one round trip per day; there is no kilometer limit.
The conditions for reimbursing travel expenses for students living in a dormitory or in rented housing depend on the type of study program:
Within the limits of the funds allocated to the school, a student may be reimbursed for travel expenses between other educational institutions as well. In vocational education, this allows for the reimbursement of travel expenses related to completing internships, as well as travel related to student exchanges and student competitions.
Submit the application for reimbursement of travel expenses to the course instructor by the 5th of each following month.
Toftan AS supports outstanding students in the mechatronics and industrial digital technology programs at the Võru County Education and Technology Center with scholarships. Applications for the scholarships are accepted at the beginning of the school year, in September, and the scholarships are paid monthly for one academic year.
Wermo AS supports outstanding students majoring in wood products technology at the Võru County Education and Technology Center by awarding them scholarships. Applications for the scholarships are accepted at the beginning of the school year, in September, and the scholarships are paid monthly for one academic year.
