Support Services Coordinator

The Support Services Coordinator helps organize the necessary support for students and facilitates smooth cooperation between students, parents, teachers, and support specialists.

Consider reaching out to them if:

You generally have difficulty coping with your studies.
You feel you need special additional support or accommodations in your studies.
You would like the school to collaborate with another outside specialist who works with you outside of school.
Your parent needs advice or clarification regarding your studies at school.

Social Educator and Counselor

A social worker can help you deal with problems that are starting to interfere with your daily school life and your relationships with your classmates.

Consider reaching out to them if:

You’re troubled by worries that are interfering with your studies and school attendance.
You’ve started missing school, and your academic debt is piling up.
You feel a severe lack of motivation, and it’s hard for you to force yourself to focus on schoolwork.

Special Education Teacher

A special education teacher helps students find learning strategies that work for them, adapts instruction to their needs, and provides support when students face learning difficulties.

Consider reaching out to him if:

You have difficulty keeping up with your studies in class or during practical training.
You find it hard to understand specialized texts, manuals, or study materials.
You have difficulty concentrating on your studies and completing assignments.
You find it difficult to acquire and remember new knowledge, concepts, instructions, or work techniques.
Studying takes a lot of time and effort on your part.
You feel that your motivation to study has declined. – At the same time, this is part of Ene’s role, but we both do it
You have a hard time planning your studies, meeting deadlines, or finding study methods that work for you.
You received support in elementary school (e.g., from a special education teacher, a speech-language pathologist, or by following a simplified curriculum) and need support in vocational education as well.

Psychologist-Counselor

A psychologist supports you with your mental health, personal crises, and inner turmoil by providing a confidential environment where you can share your concerns.

You are deeply confused about something or need impartial help in resolving personal issues.
You are experiencing serious difficulties with your studies or feeling a great deal of stress.
You’re experiencing mental health issues (e.g., anxiety, sadness) or having trouble coping with daily life.

Learning Support Teacher

A student may contact a learning support teacher if they encounter difficulties with their studies, completing assignments, or understanding the material. The learning support teacher helps students find suitable learning methods, supports the development of learning skills, and offers assistance to make learning more effective and boost self-confidence. The teacher helps students improve their grades. Learning support sessions take place both individually and in small, topic-based groups.
We strive to support working memory and develop study skills.
We address persistent academic deficits and knowledge gaps.
The tutoring sessions feature a slower pace and allow more time for students to solidify their understanding of the material.

School Nurse

School health services is a field of healthcare that focuses on promoting student health, preventing disease, monitoring health, and providing first aid.

School health care is part of independent nursing care services.

The goal of the school nurse is to provide students with professional, reliable, and caring school health services that support the health and well-being of every student.

The school nurse handles the following tasks on a daily basis:

  • Student health checkups and counseling;
  • Providing initial treatment for illnesses and injuries;
  • Health education and prevention activities;
  • Disease prevention and vaccinations in accordance with the national immunization schedule;
  • Through collaboration with teachers, parents, and family doctors;
  • Providing initial support to full-time students aged 20 and older.

Our school nurses are dedicated, helpful, and friendly professionals who interact well with children and ensure that every child feels safe and cared for at school.

The school nurses at the Võru County Education and Technology Center are Laura-Eliise Etverk and Keneli Kivilaht.

The school nurse sees patients in Room 317 on the 3rd floor of Dormitory No. 1 (Kooli tee 3) according to the office hours schedule.
