Who is a heritage tourism organizer and what can they do?

Any tourism entrepreneur or professional working in the cultural or natural heritage sectors can be a heritage tourism organizer. In Võrumaa and across Estonia, heritage tourism offers the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy local traditions in harmony with nature and the community. The smoke sauna tradition in Võrumaa, Seto leelo, the building and use of dugout canoes in Soomaa, and Kihnu culture have all been recognized in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. A heritage tourism organizer knows how to introduce and market all these aspects to tourists.

How can one become a heritage tourism organizer?

Form of study: non-stationary session study or workplace-based learning, one day per week.

* There is also an option to study through a hybrid model - partially on-site and partially online.

Duration of study: 6 months.

Volume of company internship: 8 ECTS credits (approximately 208 astronomical hours).

Prerequisites for starting: basic education plus work experience in the tourism sector.

A final exam is taken upon completion of the curriculum.
