Who is a chef and what can they do?
A chef handles foodstuffs using various cold and hot processing techniques and prepares and serves dishes according to instructions. They tailor meals to meet the needs and desires of customers.
How can one become a chef?
Prerequisite for starting: basic education.
Form of study: non-stationary or workplace-based learning, one day per week.
Duration of study: 2 years.
Volume of company internship: 30 ECTS credits (approximately 780 astronomical hours).
Upon completion of the curriculum, students take a level 4 professional exam for chefs.
What is learned?
In culinary studies, you can acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to work confidently and professionally among your peers. In addition to cooking, you will gain extensive knowledge about table setting, beverage studies, serving, and the customs and traditions of various nations.
What comes next?
Graduates of the culinary program can expect stable employment in restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars, pubs, canteens, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, fast food, and catering services, as well as in large kitchens. Talented chefs can advance to become head chefs, catering managers, or owners of their own food establishments. There are opportunities for further study in the senior chef level 5 specialty.
