Welder (Certified Semi-Automatic MIG/MAG Welder) (Level 4 Vocational Training)
A welder is a true master who fuses pieces of metal together into a single, strong whole. In today’s industry and construction, semi-automatic welding (MIG/MAG) is the most widely used method —a modern method in which the machine automatically feeds a special welding wire, making the work fast, convenient, and clean. This is a Level 4 vocational program that quickly equips you with essential and lucrative skills for your future.
Duration of Study: An intensive and compact program lasting approximately 1 year (the program comprises 60 ECTS credits).

What exactly do you study and do?
- Welding and Technology: You will learn how to properly set up a MIG/MAG welding machine and produce clean, high-strength welds in various positions (for example, flat on a table or vertical on a wall).
- Reading Drawings: You will learn to read construction and manufacturing drawings as well as weld symbol notation so that you can clearly understand exactly what is expected of you and will also be able to make simple sketches.
- Metalworking and Locksmithing: You will learn to precisely cut, bevel, file, drill, and thread metal sheets using large machines, as well as to use hot gas and plasma cutters.
- Lifting and Transport Work: Since metal is heavy, you’ll learn how to safely secure (sling) parts using large cranes, move them, and give the crane operator the correct hand signals.
- Digital Skills on a Computer: You’ll learn how to create simple spreadsheets and documents (such as your resume) on a computer, manage cloud services (Google Drive), and use smart devices and ID card software to solve everyday technical problems.
Course Options
Since this is a compact and specialized field of study, there are no separate tracks in the curriculum—the entire class learns the professional skills of a semi-automatic welder together. However, through elective courses, you can expand your knowledge in computer science or sheet metal fabrication.

Where to next?
The program concludes with a vocational exam, upon passing which you will receive an official Level 4 partial-automated welder vocational certificate.
