Tiler (Level 4 Vocational Training)

Course Load: A very fast-paced and compact curriculum totaling just 30 ECTS credits (lasting less than a year).
What exactly do you study and do?
- Surface Preparation and Leveling: You will learn to assess the condition of walls and floors, prime them, and level them perfectly using special mixtures to create the ideal base for tiles.
- Choosing the Right Materials and Layout: You’ll learn the difference between ceramic and stone tiles and how to create a smart, cost-effective tile layout that minimizes material waste and is visually appealing.
- Waterproofing Installation: You will learn how to properly waterproof subfloors in indoor spaces (especially wet areas such as bathrooms and saunas) to prevent or repair moisture damage.
- Tiling and Grouting: You’ll learn how to cut and sand tiles, install them on walls and floors, fill joints, and finish corners with sealant (silicone).
- Tile Protection and Repair: You will learn how to safely remove damaged or improperly installed tiles and replace them with new ones.
Course Options
This is a fast-paced, compact program focused exclusively on tiling skills, and as such, the curriculum does not include separate specialization options. At least half of the total coursework consists of hands-on practice in the school’s workshops and on-the-job training at companies.

Where to next?
The program concludes with a vocational exam administered by the Association of Construction Contractors; upon passing this exam, you will receive the official “Tiler, Level 4 Initial Vocational Qualification.” Professional tilers are always highly paid and in demand in the construction and renovation industries—you can work for construction companies, join finishing crews, or offer your services as a self-employed contractor.
