Head Chef Manages the production process at a company providing food service. He or she plans and organizes production work, creates menus, and develops products. A head chef leads and mentors the team and passes on professional skills. The head chef bases their actions on the company’s financial efficiency and profitability and is responsible for organizing the work of others and ensuring high-quality results. A head chef prepares dishes using conventional, innovative, and complex techniques according to customers’ needs and preferences. A head chef may specialize in institutional kitchen or restaurant work.

Kitchen Management: You will learn to manage and organize kitchen operations, lead and develop a team, plan staffing and training, and ensure that the kitchen operates safely, profitably, and in a resource-efficient manner.

Internship: You will learn to plan and organize kitchen operations, create menus, price quotes, and cost estimates, and lead and supervise a team. In addition, you’ll learn to manage customer service, comply with occupational safety and legal requirements, and analyze your work and internship experience.

Service in a Commercial Kitchen: You’ll learn to plan and organize events, prepare price quotes, and communicate with customers. In addition, you’ll learn to serve customers professionally, understand food and beverage pairings, and use various serving and customer service techniques.

Food Product and Catering Service Design: You will learn to develop and create catering and product offerings, taking into account customer needs, seasonality, and industry trends. In addition, you will learn to develop food products, prepare cost estimates, and calculate selling prices based on cost-effectiveness and the company’s goals.

Food Preparation in a Commercial Kitchen: You will learn to manage all kitchen operations, from receiving and storing ingredients to preparing and serving food. In addition, you’ll learn to use various kitchen equipment and technologies, develop new products, lead a team, and ensure hygiene, workplace safety, and kitchen maintenance.

This program is right for you if you’re interested in food service, cooking, and kitchen management, enjoy working with people, and are ready to take on responsibility. You’re a good fit for this program if you’re organized, creative, a quick thinker, and a good communicator, and if you want to learn both practical kitchen skills and how to manage a team, customers, and a business. It is also beneficial to be able to handle stress well, be detail-oriented, and have an interest in new food preparation technologies.

After completing this program, you can work as a kitchen or food service manager, head chef, or team leader, as well as engage in menu and product development, event planning, and customer service. The curriculum also provides a solid foundation for starting your own catering business and pursuing further studies in the fields of catering, economics, or management.
