Digital Technology in Industry (Level 4 Applied Secondary Education)
Forget the image of an old, dusty, and greasy factory—today’s industry is clean, extremely smart, and largely operated through a computer screen. This field is right for you if you want to learn how to make large machines and robots think for themselves. This smart digital world is also a great fit for girls, since the tools of the trade are computers and logical thinking.
Duration of study: 4 years of full-time, school-based instruction combined with high school courses.

What exactly do you study and do?
Get robots moving: You’ll learn how to program industrial robots and set up smart cameras.
Stories About “Brains” for Machines: You’ll learn to control entire factory lines using a computer.
You’re playing with a virtual factory: You create virtual models (digital twins) on your computer.
Become a Cybersecurity Specialist: You’ll learn how to protect factory systems from cyberattacks.
Practical Skills: You will learn about electronics and how to connect wires.

You will earn a secondary education and, depending on your chosen specialization, a corresponding Level 4 vocational certificate. You’ll be a highly sought-after specialist; you can start working, start your own business, or continue your studies to become an engineer, either at a university or through Level 5 vocational training.
